About the Domo -This is a live demo of Domino Off-Line Services (DOLS). The demo uses the standard Discussion - Notes & Web (R5.0) database, which as of release 5.0.5 is DOLS-enabled. You can use the demo to create discussion topics both online (on our server) and offline (locally on your machine) and synchronize the online and offline copies. You can also try out the support for 24 different languages. After installation, you can choose Language from the Go Offline menu.

Domino Off-Line Services (DOLS) -Award-winning Domino Off-Line Services (DOLS) technology enables browser users to access and interact with Web applications while disconnected from the network. Users will enjoy the benefits of greater productivity, and organizations with large mobile workforces will benefit from decreased network traffic.
Disconnected users can interact with applications just as if they were online. The experience is identical. Users can compose forms; edit, delete or categorize data; perform searches; trigger applets; even use business workflows. To ensure the integrity of vital corporate data stored on users' systems, the full Domino security model, including database encryption and user authentication, remains in place.
Integrated with the new Domino Enterprise Server and Domino Utility Server, DOLS brings off line capabilities to applications out of the box. Deploy browser based Web discussion, workflow or email applications that are available and fully functional when disconnected from the Internet.
Domino Off-Line Services -Domino Off-Line Services (DOLS) is an add-on toolkit, based on Domino replication and security features, that allows users to access and interact with Domino Web applications through a browser without requiring a network connection, and to synchronize changes to source data when they reconnect. Applications such as e-mail and discussion groups are fully functional. Work completed offline is synchronized when the user next connects to the network through a tool called the iNotesSync Manager. DOLS decreases demands on network resources, and facilitates interactivity for a mobile workforce.
Using DOLS, a mobile worker could, for example, bring up a Web form in a Domino-based application and work with it, offline, in a meeting with a client. Changes specified could be sent out to work group members through the iNotes sync manager when the worker next connects to the network. The work group might meet, through teleconference, to discuss the changes. Online, after the discussion, the mobile worker could replicate the discussion database, and later, offline, respond to questions. The changes to the discussion database would be synchronized again whenever the worker next had an opportunity to connect to the network.
